ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 863 by a vote of 161-2. Sponsored by State Representative Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), HB 863 amends the Charitable Solicitations Act by requiring that unattended donation bins be clearly labeled for either charitable or non-charitable purposes. ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 1005 by a vote of 152 to 2. This legislation, introduced by state Representative Katie Dempsey (R- Rome), creates a specialty tag for Zoo Atlanta. In addition, the bill will allow the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to direct funds from the sale of their existing Georgia license plate to their educational scholarship fund. Continue reading “
