Chairman Tanner Files Transit Legislation

ATLANTA – State Representative Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville), Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, today introduced House Bill 930, legislation that would create a new regional governance and funding structure for transit in the 13-county metropolitan Atlanta region. Rep. Tanner announced the bill during a press conference at the Georgia State Capitol.  He was joined by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), Rep. Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus) and several other state representatives, as well as Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann, Cobb County Commissioner Bob Ott and Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash.   Continue reading “Chairman Tanner Files Transit Legislation”

Rep. Tanner Receives 2017 Georgia Transit Association President’s Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville), Chairman of the House Transportation Committee and of the House Commission on Transit Governance & Funding, recently received the 2017 Georgia Transit Association’s President’s Award: Transit Champion of the Year for his contribution to transit and work with the House Study Commission on Transit Funding and Governance. Rep. LaRiccia Appointed to Executive Committee of the Southern Georgia Regional Transportation Roundtable

ATLANTA – State Representative Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville), Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, recently appointed State Representative Dominic LaRiccia (R-Douglas) to serve on the Executive Committee of the Southern Georgia Regional Transportation Roundtable. Speaker Ralston Announces Members of the House Commission on Transit Governance & Funding

ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the members of the House Commission on Transit Governance & Funding. This commission, which was created during the recent legislative session by House Resolution 848, will study Georgia’s transit needs and analyze ways for the state to adequately plan and provide for those needs.
