ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), along with former State Representative Valencia Stovall, will host the fourth annual 2023 Single Parent Day “Legacy Builders” award ceremony TOMORROW, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at the Sonesta Airport North Hotel in Atlanta.
The “Legacy Builders” ceremony will honor single parents from across Georgia. The George Single Parent “Overcomer Founder” Award and the Ruth Brewster Endurance Award will be given to recipients with accomplishments in public service, education, faith, arts and entertainment, business ownership, community service and medical and health.
Sponsored by former Rep. Stovall, House Resolution 279 was signed into law in 2018 to designate March 21 of each year as Single Parent Day in Georgia.
“As a proud single mom, I salute all single moms and dads, whether single parenting by choice or circumstances, for standing up, showing up and being awesome,” said Rep. Schofield.
