ATLANTA – State Representatives Mitchell Scoggins (R-Cartersville) and Matthew Gambill (R-Cartersville) today announced that Governor Brian Kemp recently signed House Bill 118 and House Bill 622 into law to triple Bartow County’s homestead tax exemption programs for school and county ad valorem taxes. Next spring, residents will have an opportunity to approve these local homestead tax exemptions through ballot referendums.

Reps. Scoggins and Gambill Announce Final Passage of Legislation to Provide Senior Homestead Tax Exemption in Bartow County
ATLANTA – State Representatives Mitchell Scoggins (R-Cartersville) and Matthew Gambill (R-Cartersville) today announced that House Bill 604 received final passage in the Georgia Senate on Tuesday, February 15. HB 604 was sponsored by Rep. Scoggins and co-sponsored by Reps. Gambill and Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) and would provide a homestead exemption for senior residents who reside within the Bartow County School District.
