These committees will meet throughout the interim, hear from experts, stakeholders and the public and compile a report of specific findings or legislative recommendations ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

Speaker Jon Burns Applauds Creation of Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform

ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) praised State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, for his creation of the Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform. This subcommittee is tasked with considering proposed legislation that addresses changes to Georgia’s legal environment—Senate Bill 68 and Senate Bill 69.

Reps. Stacey Evans, Beth Camp Commend State Ethics Commission on Decision to Allow Candidates to Utilize Campaign Funds for Childcare Expenses

ATLANTA – State Representatives Stacey Evans (D-Atlanta) and Beth Camp (R-Concord) today announced that the State Ethics Commission has approved their bipartisan request to allow candidates for public office to utilize campaign contributions for childcare expenses incurred due to campaign-related activities. Reps. Evans and Camp submitted the request on behalf of all caregivers who seek and/or hold public office in Georgia.
