Spiro Amburn to Retire from State Government after Career of Distinguished Service
ATLANTA – Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced today he has appointed former state representative and longtime House Appropriations Chairman Terry England as his Chief of Staff. England will succeed Spiro Amburn who is retiring from state government after a distinguished career.

It is with mixed feelings yet a thankful heart that I am announcing that I will not be seeking another term in the Georgia House of Representatives. To say it has been an honor to represent Barrow County the last 18 years in the Georgia House would be a gross understatement.

ATLANTA – House Appropriations Committee Chairman Terry England (R-Auburn) yesterday joined Governor Brian Kemp, Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) and other members of House and Senate leadership to announce that more than 57,000 state employees will receive a one-time bonus of $1,000 during the current fiscal year.
