ATLANTA – Members of the DeKalb County Legislative Delegation, co-chaired by State Representatives Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) and Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates), recently submitted a letter to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources requesting that the Georgia Environment Protection Division (EPD) revoke the solid waste permit issued for Metro Greene Recycling’s new plant. The proposed plant would be located at 5152 Snapfinger Woods Drive in Stonecrest, which is a residential area.

Rep. Viola Davis Announces Passage of DeKalb County Ethics Legislation
ATLANTA – State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives gave final passage to House Bill 1243 on the last day of the 2020 legislative session on Friday, June 26. Rep. Davis, who was appointed chair of the DeKalb County House Ethics Committee, sponsored HB 1243, which would update codes for the DeKalb County Board of Ethics and will be placed on a local ballot as a referendum in November 2020. Georgia House Democrats Draft Independent Fiscal Year 2021 Budget Proposal in Response to COVID-19
ATLANTA – State Representative James Beverly (D-Macon), chairman of the House Minority Caucus, along with several state legislators of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC) COVID-19 Subcommittee, recently drafted an independent Fiscal Year 2021 budget proposal in response to COVID-19.
