ATLANTA — Speaker of the House David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) has appointed the following members to the George L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority Overview Committee:
- Rep. Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro), Vice Chairman
- Rep. Mike Cheokas (R-Americus)
- Speaker Pro Tem Jan Jones (R-Milton)
- Rep. Rahn Mayo (D-Decatur)
- Rep. Terry Rogers (R-Clarkesville)
The term of service on this committee runs concurrent with the term of the 2015 – 2016 legislative session.
The George L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority Overview Committee is a joint committee of the General Assembly and is comprised of five representatives and five senators as well as two ex-officio members. The committee advises the General Assembly on the performance of the George L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority and its compliance with its governing directives.
The George L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority develops and operates the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, and related facilities. These facilities exist for the primary purpose of promoting and facilitating events and activities that generate economic benefits to the citizens of the State of Georgia and the City of Atlanta as well as enhance the quality of life for every Georgian.
