ATLANTA – House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the appointment of State Representative Mark Hamilton (R-Cumming) to the Joint Study Committee on Critical Transportation Infrastructure Funding.
“Rep. Hamilton is recognized as a diligent, thoughtful legislator and is well- respected by his colleagues in the Georgia House of Representatives,” said House Speaker David Ralston. “His willingness to serve in this capacity bodes well for the work of this committee.”
The Joint Study Committee on Critical Transportation Infrastructure Funding, created by House Resolution 1573, is charged with identifying new sources and methods of funding for critical transportation infrastructure needs. The 16-member subcommittee will work in the interim leading up to the 2015 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Hamilton. “Transportation is a key element to attracting business and tourism to the state of Georgia. It also greatly impacts the quality of life for Georgians throughout the state. Representative Mark Hamilton represents the citizens of District 24, which includes portions of Forsyth County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006 and currently serves as Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations, Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications, Governmental Affairs, Rules, and Transportation committees.
