ATLANTA—Georgia State Representative David Casas (R-Lilburn) has been reappointed by Georgia Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) to serve on the Advisory Board on Anatomical Gift Procurement. He will serve for a term concurrent with his term as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives.
“It is an honor to serve my district and the people of Georgia in this important position,” Casas said. “Organ and tissue donation is a critical area of need in both lifesaving tactics for medical professionals and medical research. I look forward to working with my fellow board members in the coming two years.”
The Board is charged with identifying areas of need in supply and demand for human organs and tissues throughout Georgia and encouraging the cooperation of banks and storage facilities to meet that need. The Board is comprised of members representing organ and tissue donation organizations, hospital representatives, medical professionals, and state officials. The Board makes a biennial report to the Governor, and to the Georgia House and Senate committees on Health and Human Services.
