ATLANTA— State Representative Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) today commented on his recent appointment by Speaker Ralston to the House Study Committee on Georgia Based Film and Post-Production.
“I would like to thank Speaker Ralston for appointing me to serve on this important study committee,” said Rep. Williamson. “In recent years, film production in Georgia has been at an all-time high, giving our state the nickname ‘Hollywood of the South.’ This industry has already created tremendous economic development opportunities throughout many parts of our state, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on this committee as we continue to learn more about this industry and the jobs that it brings to the state of Georgia.”
“The film industry continues to grow in importance in this state with each passing year,” said House Speaker David Ralston. “I look forward to the findings of the study committee and know that Rep. Williamson’s long and successful career in business will bring an important perspective to the work of this group.”
The House Study Committee on the Georgia Based Film and Post-Production was created by HR 1601. The study committee meetings will be called and scheduled by Chairman Ron Stephens. Other members of this committee include: Representative Paulette Braddock (R-Powder Springs), Representative Amy Carter (R-Valdosta), Representative Spencer Frye (D-Athens), Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City), Representative Brian Strickland (R-McDonough), and Representative Tom Taylor (R-Dunwoody).

Representative Bruce Williamson represents the citizens of District 115 in Walton County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Banks & Banking Committee. He also serves on the Governmental Affairs, Insurance, and Ways & Means committees.
