ATLANTA – State Representative Yasmin Neal (D-Jonesboro) today announced that Governor Brian Kemp recently signed her bill, House Bill 236, into law. Sponsored by Rep. Neal, HB 236 seeks to provide further protection to victims who have been granted a temporary protective order.

Rep. Yasmin Neal’s Legislation to Protect Victims of Domestic Violence Approved by Senate Committee

ATLANTA – State Representative Yasmin Neal (D-Jonesboro) today announced that the Senate Public Safety Committee passed House Bill 236, legislation which seeks to protect victims who have been granted a temporary protective order. On Thursday, March 18, Rep. Neal’s legislation passed in committee by a unanimous, bipartisan vote and will now head to the Senate Rules Committee for further consideration.

Rep. Yasmin Neal Introduces Legislation for Direct Lottery Proceeds to be used for Small Business Startup Loans

ATLANTA – State Representative Yasmin Neal (D-Jonesboro) recently introduced House Resolution 129, which seeks to allow Georgia lottery revenue to be used for HOPE recipients to convert their HOPE scholarship to a small business startup loan to fund their business venture should they decide they want to try entrepreneurship instead of traditional college upon leaving high school. Rep. Neal’s legislation was recently passed by the House Economic Development & Tourism Committee and was sent to the House Rules Committee.

Rep. Yasmin Neal Announces Passage of Legislation to Protect Victims of Domestic Violence

ATLANTA – State Representative Yasmin Neal (D-Jonesboro) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives passed House Bill 236, legislation which seeks to protect victims who have been granted a temporary protective order. On Monday, March 8, Rep. Neal’s legislation passed by a unanimous, bipartisan vote of 166-0 on the House floor and will now head to the Senate for consideration.
