Speaker Jon Burns, Rep. Lehman Franklin to Host Media Availability Following Final Passage of House Bill 428, Legislation Codifying Protections for IVF

ATLANTA – Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) and State Representative Lehman Franklin (R-Statesboro) will hold media availability TODAY, Friday, March 28, 2025, upon adjournment of the House to take questions from the media on today’s final passage of HB 428, legislation that would codify protections for in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Speaker Jon Burns Issues Statement on Subcommittee Passage of Senate Bill 68

ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) praised State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, State Representative Rob Leverett (R-Elberton), Chairman of the House Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform and the members of the subcommittee for their passage of Senate Bill 68—Governor Brian Kemp’s comprehensive tort reform legislation. Senate Bill 68 is now eligible for a vote by the full House.

Georgia House Champions Measures to Strengthen School Safety

ATLANTA – Following the tragic loss of four Georgians during a school shooting at Apalachee High School last September, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) outlined a list of priorities in a letter to members of the House Majority Caucus that the Georgia House would champion during the 2025 legislative session to secure the safety of our schools and students.
