Speaker Jon Burns Applauds House Passage of Legislation to Suspend the State Motor Fuel Tax for 60 Days

ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) applauded the House passage of House Bill 1199, which would suspend the state motor fuel tax for 60 days. HB 1199 is now headed to the Georgia State Senate for further consideration.

Georgia House Passes Income Tax Rate Reduction

ATLANTA— Today, the Georgia House of Representatives passed House Bill 880, which aims to reduce the Georgia income tax rate from 4.99 percent to 3.99 percent by .10 percent annually, saving Georgia taxpayers an estimated $6 billion each year.

Speaker Jon Burns Applauds House Passage of Income Tax Relief for Hardworking Georgians

ATLANTA— Today, the Georgia House of Representatives passed House Bill 1001, which proposes to accelerate the state income tax reduction by another two basis points from 5.19 percent to 4.99 percent, effective July 1, 2026.
