ATLANTA— State Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) today released the following statement after being reelected House Majority Caucus vice-chairman at today’s House Republican Caucus meeting:

“I am honored to be elected by my colleagues as the vice-chairman for the House Republican Caucus.  Georgia continues to face challenges as a result of our economy and I look forward to working with the House leadership team as we set and advance a common sense, conservative agenda focused on jobs creation and fiscal responsibility.”

In April, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into law an immigration reform bill that provides state and local law enforcement officials in that state a number of additional tools in the effort to identify and detain illegal immigrants.  After the Obama Administration filed a lawsuit to stop the implementation of parts of the new law, the measure set off a national debate that served to shine a spotlight on the incredible economic and social problems confronting states as a result of the federal government’s failure to adequately address the issue of illegal immigration. Ramsey, Graves Introduce Legislation Allowing Georgians to Purchase Health Insurance Across State Lines

ATLANTA—State Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) and State Representative Tom Graves (R-Ranger) have introduced legislation that provides Georgians with greater choices when it comes to purchasing health insurance coverage.  Introduced last week, House Bill 1184 would allow Georgians to purchase health insurance policies across state lines.
