Withdraws Appointment of Rep. Mesha Mainor to Comply with Legislation

ATLANTA – Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced today that, pursuant to the provisions of Senate Bill 211, he has withdrawn the appointment of Rep. Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta) to the Georgia Council on Literacy and filled the vacancy by appointing Rep. Al Williams  (D-Midway) to the Council.

Spiro Amburn to Retire from State Government after Career of Distinguished Service

ATLANTA – Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced today he has appointed former state representative and longtime House Appropriations Chairman Terry England as his Chief of Staff. England will succeed Spiro Amburn who is retiring from state government after a distinguished career.
