ATLANTA – State Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) commends Governor Brian Kemp for signing Senate Bill 311 into law on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Sponsored by Rep. Carter in the House, SB 311 would provide an opportunity for local residents to increase the homestead exemption for senior citizens living in Newton County.

Rep. Doreen Carter Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) was sworn in for her fifth term in the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, which was the first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Additionally, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently named Rep. Carter to the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Code Revision, Education, Industry and Labor, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
