Legislation to Modernize Floyd County Elections Signed Into Law

ATLANTA – State Representatives Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee), Mitchell Scoggins (R-Cartersville) and State Senator Chuck Hufstetler (R-Rome), members of the Floyd County Legislative Delegation, today announced that Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bills 8EX and 9EX into law on Friday, November 19, 2021. This legislation seeks to modernize and improve the county’s election board by adding additional board members and a new elections supervisor position. Speaker Ralston Announces Members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 Session

ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 legislative session. This council, which was created in 2017, works with rural communities to find ways to encourage economic growth and job creation.

Rep. Eddie Lumsden Named 2019 Legislator of the Year by Georgia State Firefighters Association and Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs

ATLANTA – State Representative Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee) was recently named as the 2019 Legislator of the Year by the Georgia State Firefighters Association (GSFA) and the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs for his legislative efforts to protect private, nonprofit fire departments that provide services across the state.
