ATLANTA – State Representative Gerald Greene (R–Cuthbert), who serves as chairman of the House State Properties Committee, was recently recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a group of scholars from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, as the second most effective House member out of 180 for the 2023-2024 legislative term.

Rep. Gerald Greene Vows to Assist and Support Employees Affected by Georgia-Pacific Mill Closure in Blakely

ATLANTA – Today, following Georgia-Pacific’s announcement that it will permanently close its Cedar Springs Containerboard Mill later this year, State Representative Gerald Greene (R- Cuthbert), chairman of the House State Properties Committee, pledged to do everything in his power to support the more than 500 employees affected by the closure and to fight for new economic opportunities for Early County.

Rep. Gerald Greene Reappointed Chairman of House State Properties Committee and Vice Chair of Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments reappointed State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert) as the Chairman of the House State Properties Committee. Rep. Greene was also named as the Vice Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development.

Co-Chair Mack Jackson Convenes Final 2023-2024 Meetings of the House Rural Development Council at Georgia Southern, Adopting Final Recommendations

ATLANTA – State Representative Mack Jackson (D-Sandersville), co-chair of the House Rural Development Council, recently convened the council’s final meetings of the 2023-2024 legislative term at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Alongside co-chair State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert), the council heard from agency leaders and stakeholders on issues, including workforce development in the entertainment industry, the state of optometry in rural Georgia and rural transportation and infrastructure. Following the meetings, the council convened to discuss and adopt its final recommendations for the legislative term.

Co-Chair Gerald Greene Convenes Final 2023-2024 Meetings of House Rural Development Council to Adopt Recommendations

ATLANTA – State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert), co-chair of the House Rural Development Council, recently convened the council’s final meetings for the 2023-2024 legislative term. The meetings, held at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and co-chaired by State Representative Mack Jackson (D-Sandersville), featured testimony from agency leaders and stakeholders focused on rural issues, including workforce development in the entertainment industry, the state of optometry in Georgia and rural transportation and infrastructure. The council also reviewed and adopted final legislative recommendations outlined in its report.
