ATLANTA – Yesterday, the Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection was dedicated in Athens, pursuant to House Resolution 522 that passed during the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly. The new Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection sits at the intersection of Broad Street and Lumpkin Street in downtown Athens.

ATLANTA – State Representatives Houston Gaines (R-Athens) and Joseph Gullett (R-Dallas) today introduced legislation to ensure that district attorneys and solicitors general in Georgia are held responsible for misconduct in office. ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus met today and elected its key leaders for the 2023-2024 legislative term. The Majority Caucus nominated State Representative Jon Burns (R-Newington) as the 74th Speaker of the House of Representatives. House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) was nominated for her current position by acclamation.
