City of South Fulton Legislative Delegation Elects Members for 2025-2026 Term, Rep. Debra Bazemore Elected Chair

ATLANTA – State Representative Debra Bazemore (D-South Fulton), along with members of the City of South Fulton Legislative Delegation, recently met to elect its delegation members for the 2025-2026 legislative term. Rep. Bazemore was elected Chair of the delegation and State Representative Robert Dawson (D-Atlanta) was selected Secretary.

Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Urges Increased State Funding for Georgia HBCUs

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), urges the Georgia General Assembly to increase state funding for the state’s historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The caucus has expressed concern that the state’s current funding formula for its public higher education institutions has negatively impacted HBCUs, such as Savannah State University.
