Rep. Jeff Jones Applauds Republic Services’ Decision to Withdraw Coal Ash Disposal Permit Applications
ATLANTA – State Representative Jeff Jones (R-Brunswick) today commended Republic Services Corporation’s recent decision to withdraw three pending coal ash disposal permit applications. These permit applications would have allowed Republic Services, a waste management company, to dispose coal ash at its Broadhurst Environmental Landfill in Wayne County, near Jesup, Georgia. GUEST EDITORIAL: Why I Voted ‘Yes’ to Campus Carry

Without a doubt, this is a troubling time in America. Mass shootings have been happening with seemingly greater intensity. HB 280, the “campus carry” bill, sponsored by Rep. Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton), would permit 21 year old, licensed concealed carry permit holders to carry a concealed weapon on Georgia’s publicly funded college campuses, but not in dorms, on-campus preschools or at athletic events.
