Working Families Legislative Caucus Praises BCTGM Members’ Efforts to Improve Working Conditions at Kellogg’s Facilities

ATLANTA – Members of the Georgia Working Families Legislative Caucus leadership praise the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers (BCTGM) International Union for their efforts to improve working conditions at Kellogg’s facilities across the country. The BCTGM members who work at several Kellogg’s facilities recently voted to accept the recommended collective bargaining agreement, which ends a nearly three-month long strike.

Democratic Legislators Oppose Department of Labor Legislative Portal Access Pilot Program Agreement

ATLANTA – House Minority Leader James Beverly (D-Macon), State Representatives Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale) and Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) oppose the Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) user agreement form for its Legislative Portal Access pilot program, which would allow legislators to monitor complaints and requests from their constituents.

Rep. Schofield, 57 Georgia State Legislators Stand with Nearly 900 State Legislators Nationwide to Express Support for Abortion Rights as Supreme Court Considers Future of Abortion Laws

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and 57 members of the Georgia General Assembly recently signed an amicus brief in support of legal abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to consider. The amicus brief was signed by 897 state legislators from across the country, including the 58 legislators from Georgia. According to the SiX, this amicus brief has the highest number of signers across the country and represents the strongest recorded display of state legislators supporting legal abortion nationwide.
