Rep. Kim Schofield Touts Sen. Ossoff and Rep. Johnson’s Legislation to Boost Opportunities for Georgia’s Minority Owned Small Businesses

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) touts U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and U.S. Representative Hank Johnson’s (D-GA-04) introduction of legislation that seeks to boost opportunities for Georgia’s women and minority-owned small businesses. Known as the Small Business Contracting Fairness Act, this legislation would amend the bipartisan infrastructure law, allowing more Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) to qualify for federally supported contracting opportunities and compete for critical infrastructure projects upgrades across Georgia.

ATLANTA – State Representatives Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) and Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) will hold a press conference with legal advocates to discuss a federal lawsuit against the Georgia Board of Regents for the State University System regarding disparate funding between Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their land-grant counterparts TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the Richard B. Russell Federal Building in Atlanta.
