Rep. Matthew Wilson, Minority Caucus Chairs to Hold Press Conference Tomorrow Urging Medicaid Expansion During Special Session

ATLANTA – State Representative Matthew Wilson (D-Brookhaven) will hold a press conference to call on Governor Brian Kemp to expand the scope of the upcoming special legislative session to include the expansion of Medicaid TOMORROW, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 10 a.m. in room 203 (Senate Press Room) of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building.

Rep. Wilson will be joined by the House and Senate Minority Caucus chairs, State Rep. Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) and State Sen. Elena Parent (D-Atlanta); as well as Laura Harker, senior healthcare policy analyst, Georgia Budget and Policy Institute; and Laura Colbert, executive director, Georgians for a Healthy Future.

Rep. Viola Davis Announces Passage of DeKalb County Ethics Legislation

ATLANTA – State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives gave final passage to House Bill 1243 on the last day of the 2020 legislative session on Friday, June 26. Rep. Davis, who was appointed chair of the DeKalb County House Ethics Committee, sponsored HB 1243, which would update codes for the DeKalb County Board of Ethics and will be placed on a local ballot as a referendum in November 2020.
