            Two years ago, during the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, I walked into Georgia’s magnificent State Capitol for legislative orientation. My first legislative session began immediately following the January 6 riots at the U.S Capitol. It was an unprecedented time to start a career in politics and just as challenging if you were a veteran politician.

Dear Shooter

            On June 2, 2022, you snuffed another life on the street in broad daylight in Chicago. The victim’s mother is Dr. Nia Malika Abdullah, and she is one of my best friends from college. Nia dedicates her life to serving children. In fact, the majority of my friends from Howard University are all public servants.

Rep. Mesha Mainor Welcomes and Congratulates New President of Spelman College

            ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (D-Atlanta) welcomes and congratulates Dr. Helene D. Gayle, who was recently selected as the 11th president of Spelman College. Rep. Mainor recently attended an event at Spelman College in which current Spelman President Dr. Mary Schmidt Campbell introduced Dr. Gayle to the community. Dr. Gayle’s presidency will begin on July 1, 2022.
