ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), Secretary of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC), and members of the GHDC will hold a “Day of Action” press conference to show support for the Barrow County community following yesterday’s school shooting at Apalachee High School TOMORROW, Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.

ATLANTA – State Representatives Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) and Omari Crawford (D-Decatur), along with State Senator Elena Parent (D-Atlanta), will host a legislative town hall to recap the 2024 legislative session and discuss election season issues on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 7-8 p.m. at Decatur City Hall.

Decatur Property Tax Relief Proposals to be included on November 2023 Ballot

ATLANTA – State Representative Omari Crawford (D-Decatur) today joined with State Representatives Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates), Becky Evans (D-Atlanta), Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) and State Senator Elena Parent (D-Atlanta) to announce that voters in the city of Decatur will have the opportunity to vote on proposed homestead tax exemptions this November through local ballot referendums. These ballot referendums are the result of a package of property tax relief bills passed and signed into law during the 2023 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.

DeKalb Co. Legislators Announce Legislation to Remove Stone Mountain Park’s Designation as Confederate Memorial

ATLANTA – State Representatives Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain), Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) and Omari Crawford (D-Decatur) have introduced House Bill 794, a bill which would remove the official designation of Stone Mountain Park in its entirety as a Confederate Memorial and removes the word “Memorial” from the park’s official title. HB 794 is co-sponsored by every member of the DeKalb delegation.
