ATLANTA – Today, State Representative Rick Townsend(R-St. Simons) joined Governor Brian Kemp at the State Capitol in Atlanta, Ga. as he signed House Bill 181 into law. Sponsored by Rep. Townsend, this legislation creates new regulations related to the composition and sale of kratom products in Georgia.

Rep. Rick Townsend Inducted into the Georgia College and Career Academy Network CEO Hall of Fame

ATLANTA – State Representative Rick Townsend(R-St. Simons) was recently selected as the second inductee into the Georgia College and Career Academy Network (GA CCAN) CEO Hall of Fame. The CEO Hall of Fame recognizes exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellent careers, achieved significant milestones and upheld the highest standards of professionalism and character. The ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Columbus, Ga. at Columbus Technical College, celebrated Rep. Townsend’s contributions to education, workforce development and community leadership.

Rep. Rick Townsend Applauds Final Recommendations Made by Joint Study Committee on Dual Enrollment for Highly Skilled Talent at Younger Ages

ATLANTA – State Representative Rick Townsend(R-St. Simons) commends the Joint Study Committee on Dual Enrollment for Highly Skilled Talent at Younger Ages today after the joint study committee held a final meeting at the State Capitol to adopt the official recommendations. Created by Senate Resolution 175, this study committee was tasked with examining Georgia’s current dual enrollment opportunities to develop highly skilled talent at younger ages and identify potential solutions to yield more dual enrollment participants.
