ATLANTA – State Representative Anissa Jones (D-Macon) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 13, 2025, marking her first day of the 2025-2026 legislative term.
“I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful for the trust you have placed in me by electing me to represent you in the Georgia General Assembly,” said Rep. Jones. “Your voices, your concerns and your dreams are at the heart of everything I do, and I am committed to working tirelessly on behalf of Macon, Warner Robins and all of Georgia.”
In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Jones to the Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation and State Planning and Community Affairs committees.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
Representative Anissa Jones represents the citizens of District 143, which includes portions of Bibb and Houston counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 and currently serves on the Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation and State Planning and Community Affairs committees.
