Rep. Devan Seabaugh Appointed to House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight

ATLANTA – State Representative Devan Seabaugh (R-Marietta), one of the governor’s Floor Leaders, was recently appointed by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve on the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight.

“I am honored to be appointed to the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight,” said Rep. Seabaugh. “After more than four decades working in healthcare and EMS, I have seen firsthand both the strengths of Georgia’s healthcare system and the challenges many families still face in accessing quality, timely and affordable care. This committee represents an important opportunity to hear directly from Georgians, healthcare providers and industry leaders as we evaluate gaps within our system and identify practical solutions to improve healthcare delivery across our state. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues and stakeholders to strengthen accountability, support our healthcare workforce and develop meaningful recommendations and legislative proposals ahead of the 2027 legislative session.”

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight will evaluate Georgia’s overall healthcare landscape to improve access, strengthen patient protections and identify practical policy solutions to enhance outcomes, efficiency and accountability across the state.

Speaker Burns also appointed the following study committee members: State Representatives Mark Newton (R-Augusta), Lee Hawkins (R-Gainesville), Alan Powell (R-Hartwell), Rob Leverett (R-Elberton), Derrick McCollum (R-Chestnut Mountain), Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville), Anissa Jones (D-Macon), Debbie Buckner (D-Junction City) and Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain).
