ATLANTA – State Representative Micah Gravley (R-Douglasville) recently visited Union Elementary School in Temple where he presented a new State Flag of Georgia. The flag was presented to the students of Union Elementary School, along with the school’s Principal, Teresa Benefield.
“I was extremely honored to present the new flag to the students and to Principal Benefield,” said Rep. Gravley. “The students took tremendous pride in displaying their new flag, and it was certainly a great blessing to be part of the event. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of those who helped and joined me for the presentation.”
Rep. Gravley was joined by Paulding County School Superintendent Dr. Cliff Cole and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Brian Otott for the flag presentation.
Commemorative flags of the United States and the State of Georgia are available through the Georgia Building Authority. These flags are presented in remembrance for veterans, family, friends, current members of the armed services, or to honor someone for a special accomplishment, service or retirement. Each one of these memorial flags has flown over the State Capitol and comes with a certificate of authenticity including the date on which it was flown.
Representative Micah Gravley represents the citizens of District 67, which includes portions of Douglas and Paulding counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Code Revision Committee. He also serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Judiciary Non-Civil, and Public Safety & Homeland Security committees.
