ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Andy Welch (R-Locust Grove) as the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety. Rep. Welch will also serve as a member on the Code Revision, Juvenile Justice, Judiciary and Regulated Industries committees.
“I am grateful to the Speaker and my colleagues for reappointing me as Chairman of the Public Safety Subcommittee on Appropriations. It is a privilege and heavy responsibility to oversee the budgets for the State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Corrections and State Court System,” said Rep. Welch.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Andrew Welch represents the citizens of District 110, which includes portions of Butts, Henry, and Newton Counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Chairman to the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety. He also serves on the Code Revision, Juvenile Justice, Judiciary, and Regulated Industries committees.
