Rep. Debra Bazemore Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Debra Bazemore (D-College Park) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking her first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday, January 9, was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am truly honored to have been sworn in as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives,” said Rep. Bazemore.  “I am determined to be the voice of my constituents in Clayton, Fayette and Fulton counties, as well as the state of Georgia.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Bazemore to the Intragovernmental Coordination; Natural Resources & Environment; and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Debra Bazemore represents the citizens of District 63, which includes portions of Clayton, Fayette, and Fulton counties. She was elected in 2016, and currently serves on the Intragovernmental Coordination, Natural Resources & Environment, and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
