ATLANTA – State Representative Shea Roberts (D-Atlanta) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 11, 2021, which was the first day of the 2021-2022 legislative term. In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Roberts to the Governmental Affairs, Science and Technology and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
“I am honored to serve on these important committees, especially the Governmental Affairs Committee, which has jurisdiction over state election law,” said Rep. Roberts. “I am passionate about fair and secure elections. Georgia’s record-breaking civic engagement during our recent election cycle brings me such pride, and I look forward to getting to work on this committee to make sure all of our citizens can easily access a secure ballot box and have confidence that their vote is counted.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Shea Roberts represents the citizens of District 52, which includes portion of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2020 and currently serves on the Governmental Affairs, State Planning & Community Affairs and Science and Technology committees.
