House Speaker David Ralston Names Rep. Tom Weldon Secretary of the Retirement Committee
ATLANTA- State Representative Tom Weldon (R-Ringgold) has been named secretary of the House Retirement Committee. House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) made the announcement during the first week of the legislative session.
ATLANTA – Today, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) announced the members of an Advisory Group on Legislative Leave. This advisory group will review Georgia’s legislative leave laws (O.C.G.A. 9-10-150 & O.C.G.A. 17-8-26) as well as the practices of other states to ascertain whether Georgia’s legislative leave laws should be modified.
ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton) as the Vice Chairman of the House Juvenile Justice Committee.
ATLANTA— State Representative Andy Welch (R-McDonough), Chairman of the House Study Committee on Licensing and Inspection of Child Welfare Providers, recently led the committee’s final hearing on Monday, September 29 at the state capitol. At the meeting, the study committee released its recommendations based on the findings from a series of hearings.
