ATLANTA – Members of the DeKalb House Legislative Delegation, chaired by State Representative Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates), will host a public meeting with local officials on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 12 p.m. (or upon adjournment of the House of Representatives if later) in room 510 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.

Gwinnett County Legislators Pass First Homeowner Property Tax Cut in 35 Years

ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth), House Majority Leader Chuck Efstration (R-Dacula) and a group of bipartisan state representatives from Gwinnett County today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives passed local legislation to create a property tax exemption for Gwinnett County residents. If the local ballot referendum is approved by the Senate, this legislation would give local voters a chance to usher in the first major Gwinnett residential property tax cut since 1988.

Rep. Kim Schofield Introduces Legislation to Address Toxic Chemicals in Consumer Products

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) recently introduced a legislative package that calls for transparency, accountability and the ban of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are used in a range of consumer products. These “forever chemicals” do not break down in the environment and can remain in the human body and in animals for years.
