House Passes Rep. Gaines Legislation to Cut Regulation and Fees on Food Trucks

ATLANTA – State Representative Houston Gaines (R-Athens) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives unanimously passed House Bill 1443 on Tuesday, March 15. Sponsored by Rep. Gaines, HB 1443 would allow food truck owners to operate in multiple counties in the state under one single permit. Currently, food truck operators are required to be permitted in every county they operate in.

House Committee Approves Legislation to Keep Individuals Convicted of Killing Police Officers in Maximum Security Prisons

ATLANTA – The House Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee, chaired by State Representative J. Collins (R-Villa Rica), today passed House Bill 1553, or Bishop’s Law. Introduced by State Representative Clint Crowe (R-Jackson), Bishop’s Law would require individuals convicted of killing a police officer to serve their sentences in the state’s highest security prisons.

Rep. Beth Moore Introduces “Hungry Dog” Bill to Allow Pet-Friendly Restaurants to Serve Dog-Safe Food

ATLANTA – Representative Beth Moore (D-Peachtree Corners) recently introduced House Bill 1376, also known as the “Hungry Dog” bill, to allow restaurants that permit dogs on outdoor patios to also offer their canine visitors a dog-safe menu.
