Rep. Jan Jones Nominated House Speaker Pro-Tempore

ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus nominated House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) by acclamation as the caucus nominee for her current position during caucus elections on Monday, November 14, 2022.

“I am honored and humbled that my Republican colleagues have unanimously chosen me to continue to serve as the House Speaker Pro-Tempore,” said Speaker Pro-Tempore Jones. “I will remain committed to guiding, protecting and listening to the members of the House Majority Caucus. Together, we will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of all Georgians in support of conservative policies that will bring greater prosperity and opportunity.”

As the Majority Caucus nominee, the Georgia House of Representatives will vote for Speaker Pro-Tempore Jones on the first day of the 2023 legislative session, which is scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2023.

Representative Jan Jones currently represents the citizens of District 47, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2002 and currently serves as House Speaker Pro-Tempore. She also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and the Education, Ethics, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Regulated Industries and Rules committees.
