Rep. Rynders Cosponsors Welfare Reform Legislation

ATLANTA — State Representative Ed Rynders (R-Albany) today announced that he is cosponsoring House Bill 138. Originally introduced by Rep. Andy Welch (R-McDonough), HB 138 would place congressionally mandated restrictions on the use of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards that are provided through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.

House Passes Transportation Legislation

ATLANTA— The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 202 with a unanimous vote of 163 – 0. Introduced by state Representative Bubber Epps (R-Dry Branch), HB 202 would enact two changes within the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) that would reduce project costs and improve funding opportunities for transportation projects.

Georgia House Celebrates Henry County Day at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representatives Dale Rutledge (R-McDonough), Brian Strickland (R-McDonough), Andrew J. Welch (R-McDonough), David Knight (R-Griffin), John Yates (R-Griffin), and Demetrius Douglas (D- Stockbridge) today led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing Henry County Day at the state capitol. As part of Henry County Day, Henry County Representatives welcomed officials from Henry County to the Gold Dome and passed House Resolutions honoring the accomplishments of Henry County citizens.

House Speaker David Ralston Appoints Rep. Ben Harbin as Co-Chair of Georgia Technology Authority Oversight Committee

ATLANTA – House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently appointed State Representative Ben Harbin (R-Evans) to serve as the Co-Chairman of the Georgia Technology Authority Oversight Committee. The appointment was made pursuant to O.C.G.A 50-25-15.
