Rep. Matt Ramsey Honored as “Guardian of Small Business”
ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) recently received the Guardian of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Business.
“Matt Ramsey earned this award for his steadfast support for small business and his strong leadership on issues important to entrepreneurs in Georgia,” said Kyle Jackson, NFIB/Georgia State Director.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the greatest honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. NFIB voted to present the award to Rep. Ramsey because of his pro-business voting record and work on House Bill 47.
HB 47 allows insurance companies licensed in Georgia to sell accident and health insurance policies that are approved for sale in other states. The bill was approved by the General Assembly during the 2011 legislative session, signed into law by Governor Deal, and went into effect on July 1, 2011.

Representative Pruett Seeks Funds to Restore Lake at Little Ocmulgee State Park
ATLANTA – State Representative Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman), a member of the House Budget Committee and the secretary of the Game, Fish, & Parks Committee, is currently seeking funds to restore the lake at Little Ocmulgee State Park in Helena, Ga. The 265 acre lake has incurred an overgrowth of aquatic vegetation, making it less attractive for tourists.
