ATLANTA – State Representative Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman) was recognized for his legislative leadership on House Bill 1040 by the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) at their “Making A Difference Annual Appreciation Dinner” on Thursday, July 15, 2010.  HB 1040 was introduced by Rep. Representative Penny Houston Appointed to Georgia Commission on Family Violence

ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) was appointed to the Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) on Friday, July 23, 2010.  As one of the 37 members, Rep. Houston will help lead the commission in its efforts to coordinate community organizations, the state justice system, and other service providers in order to end family violence in Georgia. Representative Kevin Levitas Receives Chris McGill Public Servant Award From Georgia Association of Solicitors-General

ATLANTA – State Representative Kevin Levitas (D-Atlanta) was recently awarded the Chris McGill Public Servant award by the Georgia Association of Solicitors-General (GASG).  The award, named for a fallen Gwinnett County police officer, is given to members of the Georgia General Assembly who go above and beyond in their efforts to support legislation that assists Georgia’s public servants.
