Rep. John Carson Issues Statement on Kennesaw State University Student Killed in South Korean Stampede

ATLANTA – State Representative John Carson (R-Marietta) today issued the following statement regarding the death of Kennesaw State University student Steven Blesi, who was killed in the Halloween incident in Seoul, South Korea:

“My wife, Beverly, and I extend our deepest condolences to Steve and Maria Blesi and their family. Their son Steven was a devoted member of the Eagle Scout, Northeast Cobb County and Kennesaw State University communities, and in his short time on this earth, he was truly a bright light to all of those around him. He will be dearly missed, always remembered and forever loved. This is a tragic loss for our community, and I want to encourage the students who knew Steven to utilize the counseling resources available to them at KSU. Our deepest condolences and continued prayers are with his family and friends.”

Representative John Carson represents the citizens of District 46, which includes portions of Cherokee and Cobb counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as Chairman of the House Retirement Committee. He also serves on the MARTOC, Rules, State Planning and Community Affairs, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Ways & Means and Intragovernmental Coordination committees. He is also an Ex-Officio member on the Appropriations Committee.
