ATLANTA – State Representatives Katie Dempsey (R-Rome) led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing Gardner Wright of Rome at the state capitol with House Resolution 767 on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
“It was a privilege to recognize Gardner Wright for his exemplary life of servant leadership,” said Rep. Dempsey. “His commitment and encouragement continue to make Rome and all of Georgia a better place to work and live.”
As approved by the Georgia House of Representatives, House Resolution 767 commends Mr. Gardner Wright for his outstanding accomplishments. Mr. Wright is the great grandson of Daniel R. Mitchell, one of the five founding fathers of Rome, Georgia. Some of Mr. Wright’s notable accomplishments include being a two-term chairman of the Georgia Textile Manufacturers Association, a general partner at Synthetic Industries, Inc., an active member of the American Cancer Society, and a founder of Floyd Junior College in Rome.

Representative Katie Dempsey represents the citizens of District 13, which includes portions of Floyd County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and currently serves as the Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources.
