Georgia House Passes Legislation to Allow Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Commission to Solicit Monetary Donations

ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives today unanimously passed House Bill 1310.  Sponsored by State Representative Rusty Kidd (I-Milledgeville), HB 1310 allows the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Commission to solicit monetary donations.

“The Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Commission provides a wonderful service to Georgians,” said Representative Kidd. “During these tough economic times, we must do everything we can to allow the commission to seek the funds it needs to maintain their current level of high quality operation.”

Under current Georgia law, the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Commission can only accept donations.  House Bill 1310 would allow the commission to actively solicit federal funds.

HB 1310 will now move to the Senate for consideration.  A link to the bill can be found by clicking here.
