ATLANTA – The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight, chaired by State Representative Mark Newton (R-Augusta), will hold its third meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Mercer University in Macon, Ga.
During the meeting, study committee members will hear testimony and participate in discussions on perinatal health, rural health and registered nurses. The committee will also hear testimony from representatives of Wellstar Health System and Piedmont Healthcare.
The Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight will evaluate Georgia’s overall healthcare landscape to improve access, strengthen patient protections and identify practical policy solutions to enhance outcomes, efficiency and accountability across the state.
