House Minority Leader James Beverly Issues Statement on Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ATLANTA – House Minority Leader James Beverly (D-Macon) today issued the following statement in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

“This month, we honor survivors and those diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, statistics indicate that one in eight women will develop breast cancer, and more than 280,000 women will be diagnosed this year alone. As legislators, our fight continues as we advocate for policies that support quality screenings and care to eradicate this disease.”

Representative James Beverly represents the citizens of District 143, which includes portions of Bibb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as House Minority Leader. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and on the Ethics, Health & Human Services, Retirement, Rules, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
