House Passes Rep. Glanton’s Legislation to Expand Jonesboro City Limits

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives passed House Bill 654, sponsored by State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro), on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. HB 654 would expand the city limits of Jonesboro.

“I am grateful to my House colleagues for supporting this measure, which would greatly benefit the citizens and businesses in the Jonesboro area,” said Rep. Glanton. “Expanding our city limits would generate new tax revenue for our city and spur economic development in these new areas.”

House Bill 654 would expand the City of Jonesboro’s corporate limits to include parts of Clayton County. Tax parcels, or the deeds recorded in the real property records of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Clayton County, would be included under the new charter for the City of Jonesboro.
