House Rural Development Council to Hold Meeting in Americus

ATLANTA – The House Rural Development Council (HRDC), co-chaired by Transportation Chairman Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper) and Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government Chairman Sam Watson (R-Moultrie), will hold a meeting on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Georgia Southwestern University in Americus.

This meeting will open with a report from the Center for Rural Prosperity and Innovation followed by several presentations from area experts and stakeholders. This meeting will focus on the following topics that impact rural Georgians: tax reform, broadband expansion, rural transit, electric vehicle infrastructure, solar energy efforts and natural gas services and forestry.

During the 2021 legislative session, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) introduced House Resolution 185 to reauthorize the House Rural Development Council through the 2022 calendar year. For more information on the HRDC, please click here.
