House Speaker David Ralston Announces Appointments to the Citizens Review Panel for the River Valley Special District

ATLANTA— House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the appointment of the following individuals to the Citizens Review Panel for the River Valley special district:

• Jermiah P. Carney, Cordele— Carney is a member of the Board of Directors for the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce and the Crisp County Planning and Zoning Appeals Board. He received his associate’s degree from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, FL and his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. His career has included serving as the Vice President of Sales for AG Communications in Phoenix, AZ and as Executive Vice President of Operations in GTE International. He is married to Connie Carney who is actively involved in the Crisp County and Cordele community.

• Anthony Murray, Buena Vista— Murray is a manager at Golden’s Foundry & Machine Company. He received his bachelor’s degree from Albany State University and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Troy State University. He served as the Mayor Pro-tem of the Buena Vista City Council for 8 years. He and his wife, Gail, have three children.

• G. Sanders Griffith, Columbus— Griffith is the Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel for TSYS. He received his bachelor’s degree from LaGrange College and his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.

The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 established a Citizens Review Panel for each special district which approved the Special District Transportation Sales and Use Tax. Each Citizens Review Panel is charged with the review of the administration of projects and programs on the approved investment list for its special district.
