House Speaker David Ralston Appoints Rep. Steve Davis to the House Appropriations Committee

ATLANTA- Representative Steve Davis (R- McDonough) has been named to the House Appropriations Committee. House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) made the announcement during the first week of the legislative session.

“Having served with Representative Davis over the past few years, he has shown a keen understanding of the budget process while keeping the interests of his district at heart,” said Speaker David Ralston. “His hard work and insight will prove invaluable as we face difficult decisions ahead.”

Representative Davis will also continue to serve as vice-chairman of the State Planning and Community Affairs Committee and as a member of Insurance, State Institutions and Property, and Transportation Committees.

“The Appropriations Committee is one of the most important committees in the legislature,” said Representative Davis. “I am honored that Speaker Ralston has the confidence in me to appoint me to this committee. I look forward to continuing to serve the constituents of the 109th District in this new capacity.”
“I am pleased to have Representative Davis as a member of the Appropriations Committee. Throughout his service in the House, he has proven himself a fiscal conservative and it will be good to have another watchdog on the committee,” said Appropriations Committee Chairman Ben Harbin (R-Evans).
